Most English teachers do not teach punctuation and grammar, but in this video, we do! You’ll learn everything from comma rules to conjunctions, subject verb agreement to misplaced modifiers, as we break down sentences into their core components. We’ll review the two question types that make up the section, Mechanical (punctuation and grammar) and Rhetorical (author’s style, tone, purpose), and discuss strategies for both. ACT English is all about memorization and retention; it tests the same rules again and again. It’s predictability makes it the easiest one for us to master!

Get ready for the best graphing calculator tricks of your life! In this video, we’ll review our top ten key concepts tested on ACT Math and then show you how to use some of my time-saving calculator programs and shortcuts. You’ll learn a new way to approach standardized test math that allows you to easily identify the question type, and we’ll discuss the importance of maximizing accuracy up front and cherry picking easier questions toward the end. This is the only section of the exam with questions ordered from easy to hard, but every question is worth one point. We teach you how to keep moving through the section without getting stuck so you can maximize your score!

Think of this section as an open book test— all of your answers are right there in the passages! You just need to be able to get to them within the limited time. To beat the clock, you’ll have to adjust the way you read. We’ll show you how to quickly get the author’s “gist” and tone, turn the text into a roadmap, and reorder the questions. In addition to our five step approach, you’ll also learn the passage types (Literary Narrative, Social Science, Humanities, and Natural Science) and passage order, how to reorder the passages including the split passage and how to use the process of elimination strategically and spot trap answers.

Don’t worry about memorizing a bunch of biology, chemistry, and physics facts because this section is less about science and more about data analytics. In this video, we’ll teach you how to read and interpret graphs, tables, and charts efficiently and effectively. You’ll learn the differences between data and experimental passages and how to approach the fighting scientist passage. We’ll also walk you through our five step approach so that you can get through each of the passages in the allotted time and feel confident navigating, even if the scientific experiment or study is focused on something you’ve never heard of before in your life.
